Henry County is named for Patrick Henry, a Revolutionary War hero.
The seat is Cambridge while the largest city is Kewanee. It borders Rock Island, Whiteside, Knox, Bureau, Mercer and Stark counties.
It is one of the counties in the Quad Cities Metropolitain Area.

Main highways include I-74, I-80, I-280, US-6, US-34, IL-17, IL-84 and IL-78.
